World Rainforest Day

To celebrate World Rainforest Day on 22nd June, we asked Cannon Park Primary School to produce an installation for us.

World Rainforest Day 2025 is a global event dedicated to recognising the importance of the planet’s rainforests and encouraging actions to protect and restore them.

Did you know…

  1. Rainforests cover only 6% of Earth’s surface but contain over half of the world’s plant and animal species.
  2. Over 50% of the world’s animal species live in rainforests, including mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and countless insects.
  3. The Amazon Rainforest is the largest and spans 9 countries, with most of it in Brazil.

Rainforests play a crucial role in keeping our environment balanced and are often described as the “lungs of the Earth”. We hope this installation helps visualise the value of the rainforest, and the need to protect these ecosystems.

Many of our stores have sustainability statements.  Find out what they are doing to work towards a more sustainable future here.
